About the Role
As we continue to grow and diversify, we’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in Waukesha, WI. In this role, you’ll be responsible for identifying solutions to assigned projects covering the breadth of the product offering at CFR Engines, Inc. You'll be a key contributor in building the tools that keep our global energy infrastructure running smoothly.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
- A BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Focus on engine theory or design is a plus.
- 10+ years related job experience or equivalent educational experience.
- Must possess a high level of Mechanical engineering aptitude including a broad knowledge of engineering materials as well as an understanding of manufacturing process associated with these materials.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD: SolidWorks or Creo.
- Experience with National Instruments Labview software is a plus.
- Familiar with six-sigma techniques, e.g., design for manufacturability/reliability (DFx), SPC, GR&R.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
- Working knowledge of MRP (preferably Epicor) is desirable.
- Travel within the US and international is required to support projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles.
- Work closely with team members on conceptual design layout, vendor interaction, prototyping, testing, and performance characterization
- Schedules, develops agendas, facilitates and documents project meetings.
- Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to engineers and non-engineers.
- Perform data analysis utilizing DOE, SPC, and FMEA tools regularly throughout product life cycle.
- Exhibits vision and foresight to test the extremes of a design and guide the team members through well thought out, logical test regimes.
- Create accurate documentation to support NPI process including DVP&R, BOM, Routing, 3D drawings, and instruction manuals.
- Define support equipment, fixtures, test methods, and parts from external suppliers.
- Interacts with manufacturing plants and outside suppliers to achieve project goals.
- Resolve operational problems related to projects.
- Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of projects, expected quality, and allotted budget.
- Provide high quality pre-sale, design-in, and post-sales technical support to customers.
- Protect CFR’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Perform cross-functional analysis and lead special projects as requested.
